Read School has a long and distinguished history in the local area, being the focal point for the education of boys from Selby and Goole for over 300 years. It has evolved from its early foundation in the will of Charles Reade in the time of King Charles II, to the voluntary aided Drax Grammar School in the last century and on to the fine co-educational all-through Read School that we have today.
