The school is set in ninety acres of wooded grounds. The happy, caring atmosphere and excellent facilities enable all children to reach their maximum potential. The main boarding school takes pupils between the ages of 8 and 13 years and includes some day pupils. The school has a long-standing academic reputation and prepares children for all of the major senior independent schools. The Pre-prep department takes day children from ages 2 to 7 years.
The school was inspected in April 2005 by the Independent Schools Inspectorate. Opening comments about the school's strengths:
